We want to hear about your experiences of finding a place to call home. Through research and your experiences we know people struggle with housing while seeking asylum in Australia. However there is little research with people themselves about how they see their experience, the challenges and potential solutions.
Partnering with Western Sydney University, the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia is interviewing people seeking asylum about their housing journeys. What we learn we will feed back to you, including ways for you and your organisations to support people with housing, and more strategically through advocacy.
Participants will be asked about finding, living in and leaving homes in Australia, and will create a visual timeline of their experiences. They will receive a $50 voucher to thank them for their time. We are especially interested in experiences of women, families and those who are at the post-review stage.
