20 June - 26 June: Refugee Week

Refugee Week 2010 will be celebrated from Sunday 20 June 20 to Saturday 26 June, to coincide with World Refugee Day on 20 June. First held in 1986, Refugee Week promotes positive images of refugees so that a culture of hospitality, understanding and successful integration is encouraged across Australia.

17 July: JRS Brisbane Ball

24 July: Sydney – JRS Winter Solstice Ball

The JRS Winter Solstice Ball is an annual fundraiser aimed at young adults aged 18-30. The inaugural ball was held in Sydney in June 2003 with the aim of raising money and awareness for society's most vulnerable people, refugees and asylum seekers. The idea for the ball was originated and nurtured by a group of former Jesuit school students. Today it is organised by a committee of men and women who are passionate about putting into practice their commitment to social justice and a fairer society for all.
